While the overall rating of 3.2 reflects an experience that could be improved, many guests appreciate the attentive and friendly staff who contribute significantly to a warm and inviting ambiance. The rooms range from classic to newly refurbished, demonstrating an ongoing effort toward enhancement. The renovated rooms showcase firmer mattresses and updated décor, though some areas, particularly the building’s exterior and certain interiors, still show signs of wear and could benefit from further maintenance and a touch of TLC.
Cleanliness remains a strong point, especially in bathrooms, which guests frequently highlight. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room could do with a refurbishment but saying that I didn't expect a lot for what we paid. Breakfast was excellent, shower was excellent bed was comfy. 2 complaints 1.Way way too hot at night felt like sleeping in a furnace. 2. Didn't appreciate finding a dirty sock from a previous guest in a bedside cabinet
My partner and I needed a bed for the night and this hotel was really nice. The staff were really friendly and very warm and welcoming. The room was clean and tidy and the bed was comfortable. I really enjoyed my stay.
The place is in need of some maintenance but the rooms are a decent size, the bathroom was excellent and it was clean. Reasonable value for money and a good location for trips by car to Manchester, Liverpool, etc.
I’ve stayed here numerous times over the years. This time, I was in one of the newly refurbished rooms and it’s good to see some money being spent to improve the place. With the refurb it’s great value for the price. Brand new mattresses are very firm though! I implore the owners to invest some time tidying up the exterior, so people aren’t put off as they approach
Hotel should be turn in to 3 star hostel. It should be renovated with small cost. Place have potential but need a bit of TLC. I see those place is struggling but putting extra things like payimg 4 renting towels or WiFi might help to owner get money 4 renovation. I enjoy stay. Warm and cosy. Quiet place. Staff nice but I feel they need more possitive spirit. I still think its greate place location and value. Back one day:-).
Great value staying here but wish i had remembered to bring swimwear. Thought the pool looked very inviting. Had the vegan options on the menu and thoroughly enjoyed them. Particularly the stuffed peppers main course. The staff were all lovely and lady at breakfast even cooked vegan sausages specially for me. Terrific service! Room was clean warm and comfortable.. bath a bit dated but fine for a shower. Not a lot to fault.. will stay again if i am in the area..
Was scared due to recent reviews that the place wasn't great but was surprised when got here. Could do with a few more touches here and there but bathroom was spotless, fast service, friendly staff. Seems good for the price
